The most fascinating subjects are often right on our doorstep. In the workshop with Daniel Spohn, you will learn to rediscover the world of macro photography and create impressive nature shots with simple means – practical, creative and right out in nature.
The most exciting motifs are often closer than we think. Right on your doorstep is a world full of details, structures and stories – so small that we usually overlook them in everyday life. But if you take a closer look, you will discover a fascinating stage for creative photography.
In this workshop, nature photographer and biologist Daniel Spohn will take you into this very microcosm. You will learn to see seemingly inconspicuous subjects in a new way – and to transform them into expressive, vivid images. Because great macro photography doesn’t start with expensive equipment, but with a trained eye.
Daniel will show you in a practical way when and where to find the best motifs, how to use light, perspective and background in a targeted manner and why planning is often the key to a special picture. You will gain an insight into his photographic approach and understand how observation, patience and a clear idea can result in impressive shots.
It’s not just about technique, but about a holistic understanding of nature photography: How does the season influence your motifs? When is it really worth getting up early? And how can you significantly increase your hit rate with simple means?
After the theoretical part, it gets practical: together we head out into nature around the Silbersee. Here you will put what you have learned directly into practice, discover new motifs and develop your own picture ideas under guidance – an intensive practical part that makes this workshop particularly valuable.
What you will learn in the workshop
- New perspectives on motifs in your own environment
- Practical strategies for finding motifs, planning and image composition
- Creative use of light, background and bokeh
- Direct application of what you have learned in the outdoor practice section
- Many concrete tips from photographic practice
Your goal after the workshop
This workshop is an invitation to see your surroundings with new eyes – and to realize that extraordinary images are often created right in front of you.
