Crash course in portrait photography from 0 to 100 Workshop with Julia Schwegmann

This workshop is aimed at anyone who has not yet found their way into portrait photography and is now looking for an understandable and motivating introduction. Step by step, the course teaches the basics of staged and controlled portrait photography – explained in a practical way and directly applicable. The course is particularly suitable for people who feel insecure about lighting, have inhibitions when dealing with people in front of the camera or think that strong portraits are only possible with years of experience.

The workshop shows that convincing portraits are no coincidence. Complex content is presented in an understandable way and applied directly in practice. Participants learn how to direct people confidently, influence the effect of the image in a targeted way and use light consciously without being overwhelmed by technology. Instead of long detours or frustrating failed attempts, the course offers a clear and comprehensible path to visibly better results – clearly explained and with rapid progress in just a few hours.

The workshop will be led by Julia Schwegmann, who is known for her practical, motivating and clear way of imparting knowledge. At the same time, she transports KROLOP&GERST’s high quality standards directly into the course. The result is a workshop that not only imparts specialist knowledge, but also strengthens confidence, self-confidence and motivation to actively implement portrait photography.

A special highlight is the practical part on site: the techniques and content shown are implemented directly together with a model so that what has been learned can be applied and consolidated immediately.

🎟 The workshop price already includes the complete weekend ticket for Imaging World 2026 – including access to the photo fair, stage program, playgrounds and other workshops.
