Forests in the morning mist exert a special fascination. When trees are shrouded in mist and the first rays of sunlight bathe the scene in warm light, atmospheric images are created. However, capturing this atmosphere with the camera is a special challenge.
Forest photography is considered one of the most challenging disciplines in landscape photography. In the seminar, participants learn to recognize motifs in this apparent chaos and to create clear, effective image compositions.
The focus is precisely on the questions that many photographers ask themselves: How do I find suitable spots? How do I plan for fog? What equipment really makes sense? And how do I take pictures that not only document, but also convey emotion and atmosphere?
At the beginning, the most important basics are taught: the selection of suitable locations, preparation and the targeted planning of suitable weather conditions. Special emphasis is placed on fog forecasting, as this is crucial for mystical forest images. Practical apps, websites and tried-and-tested strategies from the field are also presented.
The seminar is supplemented by numerous practical image examples, which are used to clearly explain technical basics, image design and creative decisions – right through to the complete workflow.
What you will learn in the seminar
- From the vision to the atmospheric image
- Finding compositions and sharpening your photographic eye
- Selection, planning and preparation of suitable spots
- Fog forecast with apps, websites and empirical values
- Preparation for adverse weather conditions
- Camera settings and special techniques such as HDR or stacking
- Useful equipment for forest photography
- The art of post-processing
Your goal after the seminar
Participants sharpen their photographic eye, learn to recognize compositions more consciously and implement motifs. Camera settings, special techniques such as HDR or stacking and atmospheric post-processing are also covered.
Participants will learn not to leave forest images to chance, but to plan them in a targeted manner and create the right atmosphere. They take away concrete knowledge, practical tools and creative impulses to take their own forest photography to a new level or even to start from scratch.
