This workshop is an introduction to the fascinating world of light painting. Anyone interested in creative long exposures will find the ideal combination of technical introduction, artistic expression and practical tips for impressive pictures – even with simple means.
The focus is on the basics of light painting: the targeted use of camera settings such as ISO, aperture and exposure time in the dark as well as the use of light tools to create your own light trails, lettering or abstract shapes. Various techniques are explained step by step – from writing with a flashlight to working with orbs and dome wheels to using burning steel wool. In addition to practice, the course also shows how to build your own light tools and use them creatively.
The workshop is aimed at anyone who wants to get creative with light and photography – regardless of their level of experience. Previous knowledge is helpful, but not required.
