LED light has fundamentally changed photography in recent years. The technology has become more flexible, more compact and more versatile – and offers completely new creative possibilities. This workshop with Julia Schwegmann from Krolop & Gerst focuses on the practical use of modern continuous light sources.
Continuous light offers decisive advantages, especially in combination with mirrorless cameras: The lighting effect is directly visible, changes can be implemented intuitively – for precisely set lighting situations and immediate control over the result.
The workshop focuses on portrait photography with continuous LED light. The aim is to use different light sources in a targeted manner, create atmospheric effects and consciously stage subjects. You will learn how lighting and modulation can be implemented in practice, how shadows can be used creatively and how colors can contribute to the effect of the image. Particular attention is paid to the creative application of new technologies in order to develop individual looks through lighting. A model will be available for practical exercises throughout the workshop.
About Julia Schwegmann
Julia Schwegmann trained at Krolop & Gerst and has over six years’ experience as a full-time photographer and videographer. Her style combines technical know-how with creativity and a feel for emotional imagery. She works with camera systems and lighting technology on a daily basis – her workshop conveys sound knowledge in a comprehensible and practical way.
