A flash workshop with Alexander Heinrichs means: You will learn how to use flash not only as an artificial light source, but how to combine it creatively with natural daylight – directly outdoors, in real scenarios, with real practical focus.
Alexander shows you the theoretical basics of people photography with flash – compact, easy to understand and immediately applicable. You will get a good feel for exposure, image composition and the perfect balance between sunlight and flash. The focus: the synchronization of both light sources and how to use them specifically for atmospheric portraits.
After a short introduction, you’ll head straight out. Together, you’ll look for exciting locations where you can put what you’ve learned into practice straight away. Alexander will support you individually and show you how to achieve impressive results outdoors using flashes, mobile light shapers or small setups.
Of course, Alexander also shares his very personal tricks and experiences from countless outdoor shoots. You’ll get exclusive insights into his approach, learn how he reads and sets light – and how you can combine this with your own style.
The workshop takes place in a small group so that there is enough time for creative exchange. You benefit from the feedback of others, discuss image ideas and develop your lighting technique in a relaxed atmosphere – without a studio, very close to practice.
About Alexander Heinrichs
After studying pharmacy, Alexander Heinrichs switched to photography in 2004 – with success. Today, he is known for high-quality portraits, advertising and product photography as well as detailed composings. He travels internationally as a coach, speaks at trade fairs, festivals and workshops – and regularly shares his knowledge in specialist magazines such as digitalPHOTO, Chip Foto Video and DOCMA. As an ambassador for brands such as Adobe, Sony, Sigma, EIZO and MSI, he stands for sound practical knowledge – creative, technically strong and always with an eye for light.
