This studio workshop with Alexander Heinrichs is all about the creative and targeted use of flash. You will not only learn the technical basics, but above all have the opportunity to try out different light setups in the studio yourself – compact, intensive and practical.
Alexander shows you how to create strong portraits with one-light setups, beauty light or creative combinations. It’s not just about the “how”, but also about the “why” behind every lighting decision. Topics such as exposure, image composition and lighting effects take center stage.
After a brief introduction, you’ll get straight down to work. You will work with different light sources and learn how to set specific accents, control contrasts and give your portrait the desired look. Alexander will guide you individually, give you valuable tips and help you to develop your own style.
As an experienced photographer, Alexander also shares his personal experience from many years of studio work. You will gain real insights into his way of working – from simple set-ups to complex lighting arrangements that can still be implemented quickly.
The workshop thrives on exchange: a small group creates space for discussions, image discussions and new ideas. You will not only learn from the instructor, but also from each other – and at the end you will not only take away great pictures, but also plenty of inspiration.
About Alexander Heinrichs
Alexander Heinrichs switched to the world of photography in 2004 after studying pharmacy. Since then, he has been inspiring with high-quality portraits, advertising and product photography as well as elaborate composings – always with an eye for detail. As a sought-after coach and speaker, he travels internationally to festivals, workshops and trade fairs. He regularly writes for trade magazines such as digitalPHOTO, Chip Foto Video and DOCMA and is an active ambassador for brands such as Adobe, Sony, Sigma, EIZO and MSI.
