Motive and light in landscape photography

Landscape photography is more than just capturing beautiful scenes. It is about consciously choosing motifs, using light in a targeted way and making the atmosphere of a place photographically tangible. This seminar focuses on image effects, lighting and creative principles – with numerous practical examples.

Together with Nicolas Alexander Otto, we take a look behind the surface: How does light work digitally? Which lighting situations are suitable for which motifs – and why? What makes a motif worth telling? In addition to the theoretical discussion, the focus will be on concrete approaches to finding motifs, assessing lighting moods and training the photographic eye.

Whether golden hour, foggy light or bad weather – the aim is to understand the visual language of landscape photography more consciously and to use it in a targeted manner.

The seminar is aimed at beginners and advanced photographers who want to deepen their knowledge of landscape and light. Previous knowledge is helpful, but not required.
